Bear River Film Festival
Schedule of Events:
  • 4:30 PM
Doors Open, with free popcorn, complimentary drinks and sodas, and pizza by the slice. (Retraction: originally we thought we could offer free beer without a license, but we found we cannot meet the arcane criteria of a "private party". Next time!)

  • 5:00 PM
Citizen Science in the Bear River presented by Sierra Streams Institute
Sierra Streams Institute has been collecting data in the Bear River watershed with the help of citizen scientists for 4 years. We are in the midst of building a comprehensive data set that will be used to make decisions in the watershed in the near future. Come learn about the work that’s being done and learn how you, too, can become a citizen scientist.

  • 5:30 - 8:00 PM
Bear River Films begin
Bear River Watershed in photographs, with an update on the Bear River Watershed hiking trail. Five Bear River videos, including kayak and tubing videos and photos of where and when to float and yak the Bear, and when NOT to go.
Special presentation: Centennial Dam--- an Obituary. (While this is a draft and early version of the obituary, dam fights never seem to end and dam proposals never seem to die--- like this 1926 zombie dam proposal. But you'll see why we're calling it an obit!)
Surprise short inspirational videos to boot!
Come on down! Join your neighbors and friends. It's FREE!
